How a raid works
A raid in EXO is a loud event. There is no way to quietly take a base apart.
Planting a charge
- Hold the C4 and aim at a structure — targets highlight from 4 metres.
- Planting takes 10 seconds. Throughout it you cannot move, crouch, jump, sprint, aim, reload or open your inventory — any of those cancels it.
- Once planted, the fuse burns for 5 seconds.
Only one charge can be attached to an object at a time.
Who finds out
Immediately after the first blast:
- every base member gets a notification: "Your base is under raid attack";
- a RAID marker appears on the map with a circle the size of the territory — visible to every player on the server;
- everyone inside the radius gets a combat flag that keeps refreshing while they stay.
So there is no such thing as a quiet raid: the owner and the whole server know.
How long it lasts
A raid stays active for 10 minutes after the last damage. Every new blast restarts that countdown.
While a raid is active:
- the owner cannot repair structures;
- the virtual garage is locked — no storing or retrieving vehicles.
After 10 minutes of quiet the raid ends and the marker disappears.
Repairs
A damaged structure does not heal itself — there is no regeneration at all.
Repair costs 5,000 $ and restores the object to full health instantly. Conditions:
- only the territory owner can repair, members cannot;
- you must stand inside the base radius next to the structure;
- upkeep must be paid;
- the raid must be over — more than 10 minutes since the last blast.
A damaged structure cannot be dismantled back into a kit — repair it first.
What cannot be destroyed
The territory flag and decor are invulnerable — do not waste charges on them.
A safe cannot be broken with explosives at all: only a grinder opens it.
Stealing the flag
The flag has its own action — stealing it takes 60 seconds of channelling. Afterwards the base is frozen for 24 hours: the garage unloads outside and the owner can neither build nor pay upkeep.
But reaching the flag usually means breaking through walls first — on a properly built base it stands inside the perimeter. So theft rarely replaces a raid; it finishes one: breach → flag → a day in which the base has to be taken apart.
Without explosives, theft only works where the flag was left outside or the perimeter is unfinished. Such bases are more common than you would think.
A stolen base can still be raided normally: the freeze restricts the owner, not the attacker.
