AI missions

Updated 12 September 20264 min read

Missions are the main source of money, reputation and raiding materials.

How it looks#

A mission appears on the map with a marker and a circle, and every player gets a start notification. Inside is a group of AI and the vehicle they guard.

The mission counts as cleared when all enemies are dead. A reward crate then spawns along with red smoke visible from far away.

Two types#

Mission What it gives
Military Cache weapons, ammo, explosives
Construction Supplies building kits and materials

Both come at all four difficulty tiers.

Difficulty tiers#

Tier Enemies AI skill Aggro radius Vehicle
LEVEL I 4 regular 40 m M151A2 or armed UAZ
LEVEL II 6 veteran 55 m armed M1025
LEVEL III 8 expert 85 m BRDM-2
LEVEL IV 12 maximum 115 m LAV-25 or BTR-70

The vehicle always has a driver and a gunner. Destroying it pays reputation too.

Enemies are spread across the whole site rather than bunched up at the centre. On LEVEL IV the mission marker shows how many are left; on the other tiers you count them yourself.

What is in the crate#

Tier Cash
LEVEL I 300–700 $
LEVEL II 1,000–2,000 $
LEVEL III 2,500–4,500 $
LEVEL IV 6,000–10,000 $

The higher the tier, the more items the crate holds, and Military Cache crates hold noticeably more than Construction Supplies ones.

Besides money and gear, Military Cache crates hold raiding equipment: plastic explosive, code locks, crowbars and grinders.

Construction Supplies missions carry no raiding tools at all: they hold kits, materials and nails, and occasionally a safe, a workbench or a level 1 flag.

The reward vehicle#

Roughly half the time a vehicle appears next to the crate. It carries a random four-digit PIN, and that PIN goes out in the same mission-cleared notification — to the whole server. Whoever gets there first keeps it.

It is an ordinary vehicle, not a mission one: you can drive it, lock it, sell it and store it in the garage, and it survives a restart. The crate disappears after 20 minutes; the vehicle stays put.

Armour and trucks are never given away. The lower tiers hand out civilian cars, the middle ones army jeeps, and LEVEL IV can even drop a helicopter.

How many are running#

Each tier has its own limit, and it is tuned per map: usually LEVEL I runs the most and LEVEL IV only one or two. Up to nine missions can be live at once.

A new mission appears no sooner than 5 minutes after the previous one is cleared. Missions never spawn within 500 metres of a player, and the same point is not reused for an hour.

The castle#

A separate permanent point outside the four tiers: a fortified position with machine-gun towers that is not a solo job. It holds the richest crate in the game — cash, top-tier weapons and most of the crowbars, grinders and finished C4 in circulation.

Covered in detail in The castle.

Mission vehicles are off limits#

This is about the guards' vehicles, not the reward one. Anything the mission AI drives is fully locked: no entry, no engine, no cargo, no repairs, no towing, no selling, no garage.

You may only open doors and climb out if you somehow ended up inside.

Their cargo cannot be looted either — the reward is in the crate, plus whatever is parked next to it.

Besides missions, AI patrols walk the towns and armed helicopters roam the map — those are covered in Patrols.
